September 2010 is announced to be the month the civil airport of Beja will be opened. The Socialist MEP Ana Paula Vitorino made the announcement after the parliamentary group met the board of directors of the the Beja Airport Development Company (EDAB).
The president of the ANA Mr Antonio Rodrigues Guilhermino from The Airports Association of Portugal - reinforced this view after negotiations with the National Institute of Civil Aviation (INAC) and the Portuguese Air Force to determine what adjustments are necesarry for civilian airport use.
