The Mercedes Benz station-wagon from the 70’s and 80’s was built to last a long time. Even in 2012 many are still on the road, some on a daily basis. Here’s an impression of a 1984 Mercedes Benz 230TE combi estate.

Those who travel overland outside the ‘western world’ have to deal with poor quality diesel fuel. Although the 70 / 80’s diesel engine in most overland trucks can easily cope with low quality diesel, modern diesel parking heaters do not. A bit about diesel fuel quality.

Classic Mercedes Benz trucks are still quite common in Greece. Once a year oldtimer Mercedes trucks are brought back to life during harvest season. Some has seen quite a bit of action, have a look.

Greek Lighthouse on Cape 1000 miles

Greece has a lot of shoreline – lighthouses are found everywhere along the coast. Here’s an example of a neat little lighthouse on a cape with peculiar name – 1000 Miles – or “Chiliomili”. It’s built in 1890 and located in the Skarfeia region in Central Greece, have a look.

Truck radiator leaking coolant fluid

It’s not very surprising to find a leaking radiator in old ’70 / ‘80’s trucks. Older radiators have soldered joints making them vulnerable to small coolant leaks over time. As it’s the case for our 1719AK truck from ’74. Here’s the story to get a leaking radiator fixed.

The bigger cities in Greece often offer Free internet through a number of WIFI hotspots located throughout the municipality area. Anyone can connect for free to the internet when near a WIFI hotspot.
