It’s unknown if the 620 still has it’s original diesel engine. The black blue license plate is the old style plate in Portugal. The Netherlands has a similar plate for old-timer cars.

Datsun 620 pickup cargo bay – Portuguese conversion
The cargo bay is typical for Portugal. It’s a metal frame with wooden panels. Even on modern pickup trucks, this typical cargo bay conversion is still seen.

It was probably a tax issue – the trucks were imported in Portugal with a naked chassis. Nowadays new pickup trucks have their original cargo bay.
