162 Days in the East
Arno

Assalamu Aleikum ! (Peace will be upon you)

This is me at a Ski resort in Greece near Delphi hiding from the blistering heat.  This heat will be all around for the coming months on our road-trip we hope to make this year. Anyway I like that kind of weather a whole lot more than the default drizzly, cold and gray two season weather (winter & spring where are you ?) of northern Europe.

The Middle-East.... a region which makes me think of a mythical culture; Sheiks, Lawrence of Arabia, Arabic horses, harems :-) and lots and lots of sand and not to forget a huge amount of oil.  Years and years ago, this region got so much negative publicity it almost completely disappeared from our travel horizon. This year the region is back on our map so we'll give it a go at last.

While searching the Internet about the Middle-East it was quite hard to find any information about people who've traveled the region in a similar way like we're planing to. We found a
few, but compared to for instance Africa there is still very little coverage.

At this moment we both feel quite confident about visiting the Middle-East region. There are a few difficult stretches but very worth while the risk. This road-trip feels like a big adventure with some kind of mythical touch.

Well if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us :-)

Fi Amanellah :-)
